The China Doll
Autism occurs in 1 of every 150 children born in the United States today...including the younger of D.M. Rosner's two sons.

In response to the need for a teaching tool for children in grades K-3, Ms. Rosner wrote The China Doll. Through the story of a girl who receives a doll unlike any of her others, children learn about their peers with autism.

Vivid watercolors bring the story to life, and a section for parents and educators offers tips for facilitating interaction in any classroom, social, or home setting.

Here's what people are saying:

"When my son was in elementary school, I was always looking for kid friendly books to purchase to donate to his classmates. It is always hard to have a child with autism accepted and appreciated for what they bring to their classmates. The China Doll is perfect reading material for teachers and students. “The China Doll” is a great introductory to autism and gives some really great tips. I can easily see this being book being included in an informational classroom discussion early on in a school year. The China Doll is a must read for all of us!"
--Donna Lorman, President, Autism Society of Greater Orlando (Florida)

"The China Doll is not just for grades K through three...it's for all ages. Heartwarming and educational, this book is a must for anyone who has, knows, or deals with autistic children."
    --Sandra S., Bridgeport, Connecticut
